Bridesmaids Shoes Part III: Nine West Falcoin Sandal

nine-west-falcoin-sandal.jpg

I like pleats and nice little details, that’s why when I saw the Nine West “Falcoin” sandal I knew it had to be included as a top Bridesmaid shoe pick. The satin brings out a nice sheen to the shoe without looking over the top and brings out different shades of the shoe color that come from the contrasting pleats at the peep-toe. If you want to keep it low key without being dull, the Falcoin looks stunning in the muted colors available. But, these shoes also come in loads of great colors; it’s like Skittles for your feet! So if you want to make a statement, the detail of the shoe and the bright colors like orange, green, or yellow available would be a great complement to the rich bold colors used for simply cut dresses that are popping up all over the place. Plus, with the variety of colors, the bride is sure to find a color that all her bridesmaids will love.

Bridesmaid Shoes Part II - Charles by Charles David ‘Tryst’ Sandal

charles-by-charles-david-tryst-high-heel-sandal.jpg

For something a bit more traditional, I’ve found a new take on an old-school shoe. We’ve all seen these (as I like to call them) “one-strap” shoes for years. I remember wearing of these types of shoes over 10 years ago (eek!) in high school. Some things never change, and in this case, some things change just a bit in very original and creative ways. Charles David has upped-the-ante with these ‘Tryst’ heels. It starts with the the main shoe color; a soft pink lizard print lined with metallic gold that keeps the shoe subtle and hip at the same time. But the metallic gold is what brings me to the best, and most surprising part of the shoe – the twisted front strap where you can see the gold lining! It’s an unexpected twist (no pun intended) to the original style of these types of shoes. The twist and the lizard print are sexy little details that will let everyone know you’re no wallflower.

Bridesmaid Shoes Part I - Nina ‘Vikki’ Strappy Sandal

nina-vikki-strappy-sandal.jpg

You may be playing second fiddle to the Bride, but that doesn’t mean as a Bridesmaid you have to go unnoticed. This Nina “Vikki” is sure to help get you a little love. It has great little heel that’s super cute while not being too thin and high of a stiletto to cause you some embarrassing falls. This would be almost as traumatic as the Bride biting it as she walks down the aisle. I also adore the straps and subtle snakeskin gleam. The straps keep the shoe dainty looking so that it will look great with dresses made of softer materials while the snakeskin pattern add a bit of edge and bite to the look.

The Bride’s Shoes Part II - Touch Ups Nona Pump

touch-ups-nona-pump.jpg

Let’s be honest, not all people are in love with showing off toes. I can’t blame you, I myself have a love-hate relationship with them. I’ll wear opened-toed everything, but please never talk to me about my toes, it just weirds me out. So, for all you Brides that would rather keep things under-wraps, the Touch Ups “Nona Pump” is the shoe for you! The Nona is great because you don’t have to show off everything. However, the Nona will still mix-it-up and provide your foot a little air on a warm wedding day by saying “hello!” through the nicely detailed overlapping pleats that form the peep-toe. Another great feature of the shoe is that it’s nicely priced at about $50, and can be dyed to match your wedding gown.

And now we say adieu to shoes for the Bride and move on. But hey, if you haven’t gotten enough, send an email or leave a comment and I’ll be more than happy to help all ya’ll Brides complete you wedding look. Shoots, I’ll even accept pictures of your dress so that we can find a perfect match.

The Bride’s Shoes - Nina Kimi-LS

nina-kimi-ls.jpg

You don’t have to sacrifice comfort for style with a pair of Nina “Kimi” heels. Nina’s are known for being comfortable and stylish. My cousin wore a pair of Nina heels for her wedding and was still standing in them for over 15 hours! (I know, I was with her the entire way as the maid of honor – from the 4am wake-up call to the after 10pm end). The t-strap is definitely in this season and a bit-o bling bling never hurt anyone. The t-strap look with the rhinestones works well to make your feet look slimmer. And because the Kimi doesn’t encase your whole foot, it will compliment both the structured satin and the flowing soft silk wedding gowns.

Bride’s Shoe - Kate Spade Genevieve

kate-spade-genevieve.jpg

I LOVE these shoes by Kate Spade! Paired with a more free flowing bridal gown, these delicate Kate Spade Genevieve’s will complete your entire wedding look. Not only will the Ivory color look great with your dress, but because it’s strappy the white isn’t overwhelming. This means these can be worn on other occasions than just your wedding day. The heel isn’t too high to give you sore feet. Also, not only are the straps arranged in a very original and cute way, it’s also wonderful because it keeps those toes where they belong – no chance for spillage here! And lastly, the thin little ankle straps adds just a touch of sexiness while keeping your ankles in place to help you dance into the night.

Wedding and Bridal Shoes

weddings.jpg

Tis the season…for weddings. With spring already here and summer approaching quickly, I know there are many of you with weddings to go to or be in. I’ve got 5 lined up myself along the west coast between May and September. 5 weddings means 5 different outfits and, of course, the perfect shoes to match.

We all know that weddings involve a little bit of sitting, a whole lotta walking and standing, and if you’re lucky (or unlucky) a bunch of dancing and partying. And, for those of you that are yet to tie the knot, perhaps some jumping involved when the bouquet gets tossed. For all of that one of the first things on your to-do list should be getting that perfect shoe to go with that killer outfit you’ll be wearing.

So with that, the next few posts will be dedicated to the finding the perfect shoe for that special day, whether you’re the bride, bridesmaid, mother of the bride, guest, or wedding crasher wanting to look like a legit guest.

For a little taste of what’s to come..check out the April 07 post with the Coloriffics Desire Pump. A great classic shoe for the bride who’s looking for something simple that won’t take away attention from her wedding gown while not being boring in itself.

Next up: here comes the bride! Well her shoes at least..
